Combine MP7 concept right side

Alright finally after so many delays I got my self a camera and hopefully some more time to devote to this project among so many others.

So basically this is my concept for a Combine produced MP7 with integral 20mm grenade launcher. This may or may not be used for the HL2 mod Northern Resistance but hopefully it will once I get the animation GIFs finished ^__^

As you can see unlike the human version of the MP7 the Combine version has the entire ejection port and barrel moved upwards with the gas piston being inverted to make room to the integral single shot 20x85mm grenade launcher.

It uses both 25 and 45 round stamped metal box magazines similar to the human versions. Due to the barrel and ejector being move upwards it uses magazines that are slightly longer thus allowing for 5 more rounds to fit.

Basically Combine magazines will fit in old human MP7 and MP7A1's but not the other way around making it a bit harder for the resistance to find ammo and to keep them from reusing old human weapons and magazines.

The 20mm shells are of the same type used in the US OICW prototypes and are loaded from under the gun in a similar manner to a shotgun or the Killzone 1 STA-52s integral secondary shotgun and function just like the STA-52.

Other than that its almost identical to conventional MP7s

Combine MP7 Stats

Caliber : 4.6x30mm full metal jacket with lead core & 20x85mm contact detonated high explosive grenades

Magazine capacities : 25 & 45 round box type + 1 20x85mm grenade

Secondary : 20x85mm Combine high explosive fragmentation grenades.

Action : G36 like short stroke piston gas system with rotating bolt

Rate of Fire : 950 rounds/min

Muzzle velocity : 735 m/s (2,411 ft/s)
